If you like the Adidas F50i soccer cleat range, you are going to want to check out the cleats that Lionel Messi debuted in European Super Cup. Messi wore a very unique version of the F50i, in a special design that signifies his home country, Argentina. FC Barcelona beat UEFA Cup holders Shakhtar Donetsk 1-0 in the Super Cup final. Messi was exceptional in the game, and so nearly capped off the cleat’s debut with a world class goal where he beat 3 to 4 players before having his shot saved. Messi will be wearing the cleat’s playing for Argentina in a World Cup qualifier with Brazil next week, and will want to impress then also. His new personalized F50i cleat comes in a dark blue color, with the Argentinian colors and a sun emblem centered on the cleat’s tongue. Messi is obviously excited to get his own personalized version of the Adidas cleat, and he will be only the 4th player to do so. He was quoted as saying:
“I’m honored that Adidas came up with these boots. The design and colors reflect the love I feel for my country and my team. The game in Rosario is crucial for us, and I hope these boots will help me score goals against Brazil!”
More importantly, in my opinion, will be Messi scoring in this seasons’ La Liga, as he faces the challenge of Real Madrid’s duo of Ronaldo and Kaka! I definitely prefer this version of the F50i, as the darker blue and yellow stripes, as it makes for a more attractive cleat! If you can wait for it, the new Messi version of the F50i cleat will be available to purchase in the US (although limited!) later this year. Another option is to get your hands on the current F50i cleats, that are available to buy right now!
UPDATE: The F50 pesonalized Messi cleat is currently available for a limited time ($154.99).
