Voltage Cherry Vapor VI and Superfly Released

Nike Superfly II Cherry Silver

Nike have finally released their Cherry colored version of the full Mercurial range just as we had been anticipating. The release of the Nike Berry really caught the market by storm last year with players still trying to get their hands on a pair. It comes as no surprise that the current range would also see a similar colorway.

This new colorway is extremely unique, especially when you add in the metallic silver color that runs on the inside of the boot (official color is Voltage Cherry/Dark Obsidian/Metallic Silver). The whole design pops and is going to appeal to many different types of players. I had noticed that these were listed on eBay for the past several weeks, and I am sure there were players who got their pair a little earlier than others. As with the entire Nike range these days, each pair comes with a unique user-code that allows online access to Nike Soccer+, where you will find accuracy training drills and expert tuition provided by the coaching team at Juventus FC. Always useful when it comes to developing your game.

The full range is available in the following releases:

Nike Mercurial Superfly II CherryNike Superfly II Cherry

Price: $399 – Superfly II Review
Nike use an ultra-thin Teijin upper that is lined with Flywire technology, allowing for a boot that weighs in at 7.8oz. These will be worn by the likes of Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo. Add a pressure-activated adaptive traction system on the front of the boot (the two front studs) and there is even more appeal to what they offer. I found the Superfly fit a little small, I would recommend ordering a half size up, but be warned they take some time to break in and mold to your foot.

Nike Vapor VI Cherry

Nike Vapor VI Cherry

Price: $240 – Vapor VI review
In my opinion, these are the best pair in the range. Created using a synthetic leather upper, the Vapor VI is also equipped with a glass fiber outsole plate that allows for less weight and more speed. They weigh in at a little over 8oz, leaving them close in weight to the Superfly. I found they fit true to size and were relatively easy to break in.

Nike Miracle CherryNike Miracle Cherry

Price: $124.99 – Miracle review
Seen as the little brother to the Superfly, the Miracle offers superb quality and value for money. Many players can not afford the high end Superfly but in the Miracle there is a very suitable alternative. Both versions look extremely alike, and from surveying players you really can’t tell the difference unless you are holding them up close. Impressively, they weigh a modest 8.6oz and from my experience fit true to size.

Nike Glide CherryNike Glide Cherry

Price: $84.99 – No review available
Although I can’t say that I have tested the Glide, feedback I have receive suggests they are a good option for players on a budget. They don’t have any high tech features or fancy gimmicks. The upper is a soft Teijin synthetic leather and they weigh in at 9.6oz. Nike have set them out to look like the Vapor VI, and although it is quiet evident that they are not the same boot, there will be players who don’t notice many differences.

Nike Victory Cherry

Price: $59.99 – No review available
These are the lower end release for the Mercurial range. And to be honest, they are designed to suit rec players more than aspiring professional athletes. The upper is made of a synthetic leather and they weigh in at 9.8oz. They actually look similar to the Superfly and the Miracle. But it is the soleplate where these boots fall short.

The big question lies around how well these will sell, and which version in the range is going to sell the highest volume. What are your thoughts on the range and are you interested in wearing the colorway on the pitch?

Update: As of today, the Cherry range is pretty tough to find. Nike are planning to release a similar colorway in the upcoming Vapor VIII release, so if you are looking for a pair you will need to wait until then. Alternatively, you can check out the other colorways currently available in the range!

  1. So your telling me if Ronaldo puts on a pair of Victorys he is not a pro anymore?!

  2. I was saying that because of "And to be honest, they are designed to suit rec players more than aspiring professional athletes." I am not even one of these people, but some people that are trying to be pros and are good enough can't afford the $400 superflys and you are saying that if you are trying to be a pro you shouldn't wear them! Like the cleat will make that big of a difference?!

  3. John,

Not sure how you have come to that conclusion? Either way, when Ronaldo puts on a pair I will let you know the answer!

  4. Ok sorry I re read it and it says it suits rec players more so sorry about that, but really the boot doesnt make a terrible player into a great one, it probably makes a player that is a 9 to a 9.1 lol

  5. Please accept my apologies i love what you do on this blog and see if there is anything new every day

  6. when are these cleats going to be on sale it saids early october but i watch a ac milan game an ibrahimovic and robinho already go them and are the glides a good cleat

  7. to Vic: in the most recent catalogue from eurosport (soccer.com) you can already put in an order for them. and maybe its on back order, not too sure

  8. Bryan,

I need your help. I currently wear vapor vi in size 11. I want to by the pink ones in pink. What size should i get i like a tight fit.

    Thank you

  9. The silver color kills the pink 😛

  10. Sad to see Nani switched to the Adizero.

  11. Mike,

You want to buy the Superfly or Vapor VI?

  12. I found the Superfly were a half size small, mainly due to the fact that the Flywire does not allow the boot to stretch. If you like a tight fit then maybe true to size will be the most suitable for what your looking for.

  13. Hi Bryan,

After reading the reviews for all the "new range" boots, you have caused me to be stuck between two different boots. I can't decide between the Nike Mercurial Miracles, the new Cherry ones or the Adidas Lether F50s. I am a winger and I am pretty fast, I have worn adipures II, Nike Talaria and Adidas 50.8 Tunits in the past. I found the Tunits not moulding well, but I believe Adidas has fixed that problem now. So which ones would you pick? Miracles or Lether F50s? Please reply, thanks

  14. David,

I recommend reading both reviews side by side to see which fills your requirements. Both are great options and offer good value. From some of the recent findings on the F50 stud durability, the long term option might be the Miracles. But again, it is really down to personal preference.

  15. Hi,

I was wondering if the vapor vi's fit true to size or if you should get half a size smaller, for some reason they felt like an inch to and inch and 1/2 extra roomy when i tried them on. Thanks for reply

  16. Oliver,

For me they fit true to size, but I have heard other players say they purchased a half size down. If you did have too much space then a half size down might be the smarter option.

  17. hey brian,

I cant decide whether to get the Super fly cherry or the f50 adizero. whenever I get new boots I blister quite easily and I was wondering which boot caused the least blisters. And which one is more comfortable. thanks.

  18. Carson,

Personally, I found the adizero to be more comfortable, but your best bet is to compare reviews side by side to see which suits your game best!

  19. ok, so let me ask something.

i bought the victorys because i thought they would feel like the old talarias or whatever the old cheap mercurials were.

but now they hurt my feet, but everyone says they feel great. should i buy adinovas/adipure for comfort? or break them in some more?

  20. @Tommy,

I would advise spending some time breaking them in before buying other boots. Jog in them and wearing them in training before breaking them out in a game. If they continue to cause discomfort definitely look for a different boot that suits your feet better.

  21. omg i want these shoes so bad but theres nonoe my size and like there the top sold 1 and it sucks now i have to get the orange and black murcurial soccer cleats

  22. i meant none my size sorry

  23. Hey SoccerCleats 101 I would like to have a one! A Victory will do. . Do you still have any of them? 🙁
