Adidas adiPower Predator SL in Running White

Adidas adiPower Predator SL White

The latest installment of the limited edition Adidas adiPower Predator SL has been released in a Running White/Black/Sharp Blue colorway and has a very clean/flashy look about them. Two weeks back, we posted about the initial Black release that at the time was named the Kinetic, rather than adiPower. There is still some discussions as to the exact naming convention to go with the release, but for now we will go with adiPower SL.

Another area of controversy lies with the actual weight of the super light boot. Estimates range from 6.8oz to 7.6oz, which I imagine has a lot to do with the actual size being weighed. To keep things simple, I am going to state that they are 7.0oz, until I actually get to review a pair first hand – at which point I will give a more accurate number! I’m not sure what the deal is with Adidas, but I find it comical that there is so much confusion over the release – you only need to check out their website to see that the boot is named the Kinetic rather than the predator, as it is referred to elsewhere (like this post, I termed the initial release the adiPower Kinetic.)

Either way, these look sharp and are very much an opposite of the Black release. I do like the detailing, especially the SL that runs across the front of the boot. My concern with these is trying to keep them clean. It will be interesting to see how the synthetic holds up over time, and if it scuffs easily. They are priced at $250 starting out, which is unlikely to change seeing as they are a limited edition release. And of course, because they are limited edition, we are unlikely to see many high profile players wearing them in games!
