Pele Sports 1962 Redeemer Released

Pele 1962 Redeemer FG

The latest release from Pele Sports comes in the form of a solid built, no-nonsense, classic looking package and this is a boot designed like a corgi on steroids! Holding the Pele 1962 Redeemer up-close, you can immediately tell that this is a heritage release.

Kicking things off is a leather upper that features strategically positioned stitching right through the upper. This initial Black colorway release almost looks like a mesh of the adiPure III and Speciali 3, with an extra level of gold detailing thrown in. Turning the FG version over, you are immediately hit by an awesome looking soleplate, with “Love, Honor, Play” text adding a extra level of spiciness.

These boots have been on the market for a few weeks, and they have a retail of $129.99. They come in several different soleplate configurations – see the image below for an in-depth breakdown of whats on offer.

Pele Sports has been extremely strategic with the audience they want these boots to reach out to. There are no gimmicks and the upper is built with durability in mind. But, as a result, you are getting a heavier boot that we are currently familiar with. At 11oz, they definitely sit on the heavier side of things. It is the one aspect that turns me off this release, but in hindsight it might be a smart move by Pele Sports. Players that want lightweight have the Trinity option, with the Trinity K adding a leather upper to the mix. This release is designed with durability in mind and I am sure there are plenty of old school players out there who could care less about weight, preferring a well-built, ready to last boot.

The Redeemer is a boot designed with pressure dissipation channels for the best possible absorption and dilution of force! Its anatomical flex zones, internal heel stabilizer and padded lining ensure optimum comfort, while the multiple density Firm Ground outsole and the top quality sporting leather make this a must have boot!!

At 11oz, is this the type of “classic” release you would wear, or is lightweight more important? Let us know in the comment section below.

  1. wow.. its definitely worth mentioning that the front of the AG Redeemers are a very odd texture, the salesman said that they were kevlar! If you have any other info on those that would be fantastic.

  2. the soft ground version looks really good
