Adidas F50 adiZero – A New Generation

New Synthetic F50 adiZero

Adidas has just released the latest and all-new updated version of the F50 adiZero. The boot has been redesigned with a stronger, more aerodynamic construction and engineered for speed.

Rater than instilling a new name, this boot will again be known as the Adidas F50 adiZero. It is technically the third or III version, but Adidas has refrained from adding a numeral to the name. Either way, there are a lot of updated to the upper that turn it into a New Generation release!

The release colorway comes in a Vivid Yellow/Black/Green Zest and if you take a look at the upper, you will notice there is something vastly different. That is where the real differences lie in this new boot. Adidas has created a new synthetic SPRINTSKIN upper that features a 3D textured feel, designed to elevate performance in all weather conditions.  This water wicking material and an elevated ridge pattern allows water to slide off the cleat rather than be absorbed—keeping the foot dry and the cleat light even in heavy rain.

For those interested in the featured Synthetic version, they currently available for Pre-Order on WeGotSoccer.

There is also a change with the internal SPRINTWEB. It has been altered to provide even more exceptional ball control at high speeds and a supple but stable construction for ease of lateral movement.

In terms of the soleplate, everything is the same with Adidas continuing to use their extremely effective SPRINTFRAME. And the new adiZero F50 is miCoach Speed_CELL compatible, helping players measure, view and share their stats. miCoach technology includes an advanced accelerometer that captures 360-degree movement and measures performance metrics during practice or gameplay.

All-in-all, Adidas is touting this as a stronger, more well-rounded release that still holds the characteristics needed for a speed boot. Weight wise, not much has changed and these weigh in at a superlight 5.8oz.

We are not going to have to wait long to see these boots in action – Lionel Messi will be wearing them in Champions League action tonight. The only difference lies in the fact that Messi will be wearing the 6.1oz Goleo calf-leather Leather version rather than the Synthetic. This version is also available to order from Soccer.com for $209.99. Messi will be the only player wearing these boots until later this month, when top international players Dani Alves, Karim Benzema, David Silva and David Villa lace up the new cleat.

  1. The textured upper kinda reminds me of the synthetic evospeed… Not a performance changer. It doesn't seem like the texture is gonna make much of a difference when it comes to feel. Maybe, maybe not. Kinda excited for the review. Not bad looking though

  2. much better than the last version, but new Vapors are much better in more ways than just appearance.

  3. An interesting thing i noticed, on soccer.com it shows that the f30 also is available in goleo leather, not just a synthetic as in past models

  4. I would do horrible, shameful things to get a pair of those.

  5. Look too NFL-ish to me…the placement of the three stripes is a bit questionable; looks to just be in the middle of nowhere…

  6. The leather one’s upper is almost all leather, not just the toes anymore. Vastly improved

  7. These look like they were made when my bro was 4 and played soccer. What I'm trying to say is that the 3 stripes are totally in the wrong place.

  8. Gross! Looks too much like the Adidas Adizero 5-star football cleats.

These are technically the Fourth Gen Adizero…original with the Chameleon Purple, next was the update with the Prime versions, then the recent SprintWeb and now these ugly things.

  9. Hey Brian

I am a winger but I tend to play more through balls than run with the ball myself. Should I get these f50 or ctr iii

  10. These or the ctr iii

  11. Why do they push the synthetics so hard when Messi won't wear them? There's no such thing as a synthetic boot that performs better than leather.
