Adidas Predator LZ SL in Black/Vivid Pink

Adidas Predator LZ SL Black Iron

Adidas are extending their dark streak of releases in the Predator LZ SL range with this lightly detailed version. It is officially listed as a Black/Vivid Pink/Neo Iron Metallic colorway and offers a completely unique look for the market.

It was only last week that we brought you exclusive details of the Metallic Silver/Green Zest release. This version offers a sort of inverted look, with the primary upper colors switched around. There is a slight “Beetle-Juice” look about this, with the Black/Neo Iron stripes across the forefoot adding a visually significant look. Then Adidas has added what looks like a shade of Pinkish/Purple for detailing. Because it pops on the Black upper, it offers what looks like a Neon sign effect.

Retail wise, they have a $250 price point – or a slightly better $225 retail price if are a Soccer.com Goal Club member. The one positive that can be taken is that Adidas didn’t increase the price of an already expensive shoe!

More about the Predator SL

At 7.3oz, this is not the lightest Predator we have seen (the adiPower Predator SL was 6.8oz) so they don’t break any new boundaries. In fact, the 0.7oz differential between the regular and SL has left many players wondering why there even is an SL version this time around!

Both versions feature the same technology, 5 Lethal Zones and miCoach technology, and the same soleplate. It is the the upper material where they are differentiated. Rather than using the Hybrid S-L seen in the regular LZ, Adidas employ a thinner SprintSkin on the back end of the LZ SL. This reduces the overall weight of the boot and provides a slightly different experience. There are not too many other differences between both boots to offer up!

The interesting part will be seeing how players react to this new design – with that, leave us your initial thoughts below!

  1. Adidas has released way too many black-based colorways recently. It is confusing and hard to keep track of all of them.

  2. It's confusing to me why anyone would spend this much on the Predator LZ SL when they could have the adizero for at least 30 dollars less. They have the same upper material, and the technology that makes the LZ the LZ has been greatly reduced.
