Limited Edition Puma evoSPEED SL Ducati – Profiled

The Limited Edition Puma evoSPEED SL Ducati was released in late October and offers players a combo of true performance and absolute speed. We all know that Puma like to create attacking styled boots and with the addition of racing’s most fabled name, Ducati, this is an extremely unique boot stylized for a very exclusive set of players. I was extremely happy to see these come through the door and have already taken them out for a few kick-about to see what they are all about.

Detailing the Upper

The first thing to note about the design is the inclusion of Ducati branding through the upper. There is the Ducati name placed on the forefoot as well as a badge on the heel, both of which stand out and provide a super exclusive look. I love the sharp Red color, it is extremely slick and meshes perfectly into a darker black shade through the back of the shoe. Then there is the woven pattern, which you can see on some of the images below. It runs right through the upper and provides a little extra texture when you are on the ball.

But Does it Improve Performance

Well, it does add a little extra feel on the ball and is ideal in wet conditions. It might not have a tacky feel, but the textured grooves does allow for more definition.

How do they Fit?

Starting out, I was a little nervous about the sizing and actually thought I needed to go up a half size. After some time wearing them, I noticed they loosened up and the size 9US I was wearing (I am normally a size 9US) felt more comfortable. They are very snug, and some players will benefit from going up a half size. If you have any concerns, make the wise decision and go up a half size for a secure but relaxed fit.

Are they worth buying?

It is tough to say, as the $275 price tag has a lot to do with the fact they are Limited Edition and extremely lightweight. Personally, I am a Puma fan and I like this design – ultimately, I am glad to have the pair I feel players who own a pair will definitely appreciate what they have to offer.
