Umbro GT2 Pro – Neon Orange/Neon Green

Umbro GT2 Pro Neon Orange

What’s With This Colorway?

It seems like a long time since we have seen a release from Umbro, but this week we  have been introduced to 2 extremely dramatic new colorways in the GT2 Pro range. And if they were trying to make a statement as in “Umbro is back”, then they certainly have! On this occasion, I’m not sure that the Neon Orange/Black/Neon Green mix is going to create the reaction they were looking for!

GT2 Pro

Having seen plenty of success with the initial GT Pro release, this upgraded version comes in at a lighter weight thanks in part to a Japanese micro-fiber upper. Picking up on a Nike strategy, Umbro has also trimmed the FG version even further by including hollowed out blades.

In fact, at 8.8oz this is the lightest boot Umbro has ever released! The subtle asymmetric, partially concealed lacing provides a larger strike zone. For players who want a speed boot that has actually been designed with material rather than air, this is a solid option. The entire boot offers a protected feel, while you still get that lightweight, easy to accelerate in attitude. If you want more details on the GT2 Pro, make sure to check out our review.

I am definitely not a big fan of this design. It is a little too bright and the mix of colors is just overly flamboyant for my taste. Of course, the important question is how many of you would wear this colorway on pitch?

This version of the GT2 Pro is currently available to order for $149.99.
