Checking Out the Nike Hypervenom Phatal AG

Nike Hypervenom Phatal AG

A lot of people have been asking about the Nike Hypervenom Phatal over the past few weeks, with many of you wondering how they perform compared to their high-tier brother, the Hypervenom Phantom. We doubled up by getting our hands on a pair of Phatal that feature an AG soleplate. In other words, we get to see how that upper differs on the ball, while also checking out traction and grip on artificial surfaces.

The Phatal is an interesting boot as it really doesn’t feature any type of technology on the upper. You get a synthetic upper that features a simple dimple texture due to the underlay Nike introduce. This is detailed a little more in the video below (check out the video and gives a thumbs up to help promote the video).

I’m going to be checking these on out pitch to see how they perform, then I will be passing them on for a proper testing and review from one of our awesome writers. Stay tuned for that.

  1. To be honest it seems like the phelon, the lowest tier model, has better dimples/texture than the upper of the phatal.

  2. rumor says the upper is made of kanga-lite

  3. I have been wearing these for a few weeks now, the upper is like the MV8. Has that suede texture on it and is very thin. It's almost like a Vapor 8 with a different sole plate. Actually pretty comfortable. The only thing I have noticed personally is that the left boot seems to cause some strange pinching feeling in one of my toes.

  4. Any news on this review? I need to buy new shoes and am choosing between Phantoms/Phatals and Vapor/Veloces in FG or AG. SC101's input is always vital!

    • The Phantoms are going to stretch quite a bit like a leather boot would. I have ben switching between the Phatals and the Veloce's and they are both holding up really well as far as durability goes. I kind of like shooting in the Veloce's better than the Phatals, but that is the only thing that I find better myself.
