Gareth Bale, Real Madrid and New F50 adiZero Colorway

Bale Signs for Real Madrid

Gareth Bale was officially unveiled as a Real Madrid player today at the Bernabeu, and it was pretty much a Hollywood style entrance. With the lower level of the stadium packed and journalist hovering like vultures, Bale gave us a glimpse of how he will look wearing the fabled Madrid colors. And as a bonus, he gave us our first look at the newest Adidas F50 adiZero colorway that has yet to be released.

The new shade, officially labelled as an Electricity/Hero Ink/Silver, is set to be the boot that Bale will wear on his debut for the club, something I am sure Adidas are pretty stoked about. They have been personalized, with his name and squad number (he will be wearing #11), the name of his daughter (Alba) and the Welsh flag in all its pride and glory.

The look is obviously pretty similar to the original Vivid Yellow used on the initial F50 adiZero release, but this is slightly brighter and the use of a Hero Ink gives it a more defined look. Bale joins the likes of  Karim Benzema, Marcelo and Fabio Coentrao as Real Madrid players who will be wearing the F50 adiZero.

Bale, who arrived in Madrid late on Sunday night, said:

I would like to thank everyone at the club, the chairman, board, staff, coaches and players – and most of all the fantastic fans who I hope will understand this amazing career opportunity. I am not sure there is ever a good time to leave a club where I felt settled and was playing the best football of my career to date. I know many players talk of their desire to join the club of their boyhood dreams but I can honestly say this is my dream come true.

I would not be at the level I am today were it not for Southampton and then Spurs standing by me during some of the tougher times. Tottenham will always be in my heart and I’m sure this will be a successful season for them. I am now looking forward to the next exciting chapter in my life.

Again, we expect to see Bale debut these in his first Real Madrid game, which should be against Villarreal on September 14th – pending his match fitness. Later this week, we will have details and more up close images of this latest colorway, stay tuned for more details.

Does this colorway excite you or is it “just another Adidas release”?

  1. I thought he wore leather??

  2. Hey Bryan, did you get my tweet? I sent you a photo of the leather version of these the wife bought for me at the Santa Monica adidas store this last Saturday. They feel great and I love that the stripes are stitched on, helps putting some English on the ball.
