Best Soccer Cleats for Creative Players

Henry Creative Player

What do Messi, Oscar, Ozil, Thierry Henry and Xavi all have in common? They are all creative masterminds out on the field. Rather than boots by position I believe in boots by style. One of the most impressive and vital styles on the field has to be those who use creativity to beat their opposition. Creativity through making the tactical dribbles, the smart passes, and the right runs.

While having the a pair of boots that are ideal for a creative player may not make you creative by themselves they will definitely help the creative spark shine for those who have the style. This is my list of Best Soccer Cleats for Creative Players.

CTR360 Maestri III detailing (e)

No. 1 – Nike CTR360 Maestri

Sporting Nike’s high quality kangalite synthetic upper and control pods along the instep and other control zones on the fore foot this boot is one of the top control boots on the market. One of the most important factors in letting the creative juices flow is having a boot that has a reliable touch and the CTR is just that. They are average weight so they offer plenty of comfort and protection so there will be less distraction.

Samba Collection - Predator LZ

No. 2 – Adidas Predator LZ

Going along with the CTR we have the LZ. A relatively light weight boot with five zones each designed to add an extra element of control and ball manipulation is the perfect boot for someone who likes to get creative on the ball. It may not have kangalite but adidas have come a long way in developing hybrid touch and the recent updates to the zones allow them to flow more naturally with the upper.

Hypervenom Hi-Vis Collection

No. 3 – Nike Hypervenom Phantom

I would choose the Hypervenom over the Vapor for creative players due to the focus being more geared toward agility rather than just speed as well as a sturdier stud configuration. My time spent with any boot in the Venom silo has been very positive especially in regards to creativity. Even down to the Phelon I was at the top of my game creatively. Nikeskin is arguably the most advanced synthetic on the market as of now and that paper towel upper really has a lot going for it.

Samba Collection - F50-adiZero

No. 4 – Adidas F50 adiZero

I’m very glad to see that Adidas have finally given the adiZero range an update that is actually noteworthy and this update very easily puts the adiZero at a level where it can honestly compete with the Vapor range. A raised texture pattern coupled with a thin hybrid touch upper as well as a much needed stud configuration update is the perfect move in this update and I’m certain, though I haven’t tested them, that it will be ideal for the improvisers of the field. It was made with input from the creative master Messi himself after all.

Puma King 2013 Review

No. 5 – Puma King 2013

Being decently weighted, comfortable, reliable and stable the Puma King is quite the underrated boot on the market. We have here a modern heritage that offers exceptional performance properties. Bryan, Ethan and I have all had the pleasure of using the boot and it has performed admirably on all fronts. It is a jack-of-all-trades kind of boot that can realistically go on any boot list because it is a versatile. You don’t need me to tell you that being versatile is vital in being creative.

  1. legends didn't make this 5 ?…… hmmm

    • In my opinion, I would have to say that legends are more a boot for hard hitting defenders- perhaps someone who likes to hit long balls and win 50-50 balls.

  2. where would you rank geometras

  3. I am always amazed by how people truly believe there are boots for player style or position… Come on guys… As long as the boot is in good condition, excluding the plastic crap, any player will play the same regardless of pods, or whaterver gimmicks creative directiors have imagined to add a premium to the selling price.

Its all a matter of fit and feel. Whether you are a defender, goalkeeper or striker. If you are bad you are bad.

    • So you are saying that a player who has a certain style won't be gravitating to a boot that suites that style? I agree with boots by position as I know a few goalies who wear adizero but you won't see someone who has a traditional style flocking to get the latest pair of vapors.

  4. I have to go with the Nike Hypervenom. They give you a perfect fitting and the Nike Skin helps a lot if you are a Midfielder(me) or a striker

  5. Predators LZ 2 is my favorite soccer shoe line of all time !

  6. Scholes had to buy a new pair of boots from a sports shop (£40),Scholes scored a goal when ManU win Bolton 3-2

  7. nice review i was wondering when u r gna hv the akuna review done? cheers
