“Traditional” Nike Tiempo Legend V Released

Nike Tiempo V Black

It was only a matter of time – Nike has released a more traditional colorway in the recently released Nike Tiempo Legend V series. It comes in a Black/White/White colorway, with a sort of dual color effect. Most of the boot comes in that classic black color, but in an effort to spice things up, the instep to heel comes in a clean white.

If you were to look at the boots just from the above image, you would think it is a pretty standard release, nothing out of the ordinary for a heritage release. But in person, it would produce more of a shock effect when you turn the boot around to see the full design.

Black Tiempo Legend V

Visually, you gotta love everything about this version of the Tiempo Legend. It features that nostalgic Tiempo Dois stitching and the black leather upper looks very classy.

That only leaves performance, and thankfully we have already had an opportunity to test the Tiempo V. They are a classy boot that have a lot to offer, especially midfield players that like to get on the ball and ping it around. Clean touch is one of the key characteristics of the boot. An important note on sizing, I found that they fit pretty snug so considering a half size up is recommended for a comfortable fit from first wear.

The only negative is the increase in price, with Nike moving the ever affordable range up to the hefty heights of $200. It is a risky move that sees the Tiempo priced at pretty much the same level as the Vapor and Hypervenom.

Again, this colorway of the Nike Tiempo V can be found at soccer.com.

  1. Reminds me a lot of the Euro Clash Colorway. Really like it!

  2. Looks really good. But I still think Nike is out-thinking themselves these days with colorways. For a good example, look at the recent black/volt/camo Gato II colorway. Black and volt would have been AWESOME, but they had to go and add the camo. While this Tiempo looks great, I can't help but think it would look better if the instep were black, too.
