Nike Release Final Limited Edition CTR360 “Blackout”

Nike CTR360 Maestri Blackout

It is finally official – Nike is signalling the end of the CTR360 Maestri range with this limited edition, “Blackout” colorway. The playmaker boot has received plenty of positive reviews over the past few seasons and it has become a signature boot for many players out there. We were not quite sure what the swoosh had planned for the CTR360 after the unveiling of the Magista, but this signature release represents one final, glorious run for a heralded boot.

The news came via Denis Dekovic (Design Director for Nike Football) who stated that:

The game has changed and that has led us to new innovations for our players. This means that we won’t continue to innovate the CTR 360, but we know this boot has a lot of fans so we wanted to say goodbye with something special.”

During the initial testing phase of any boot, companies use blackouts to keep the minute details out of the reach of interested fans. This final installment pays homage to the range by taking it back to where it began.

*Note; there are only 1,000 pairs available and are set to sell fast. You can currently find them listed on Nike.com and from Soccer.com

When it comes to performance, the CTR360 was one of the top currently on the market. It has earned a reputation as being a control freak’s weapon of choice, with attacking and creative players being the focal market. In my opinion, the key characteristic is the crease across the forefront of the boot. It adds an extra level of flexibility and provides a more natural level of movement from the Kanga-Lite upper.

If you are a boot fanatic who has never worn but often considered picking up a pair, this is one of your final chances, and its one you probably won’t want to turn down.

The boot features slight tones of black throughout giving it an added feel of luxury with a hint of reflective lines in the laces. Each version is going to be individually numbered, and they will be available both on Nike.com and from Soccer.com.
