Nike Announce the Air Max 1 FB “Mercurial Pack”

Mercurial cover

Nike has announced the release of an Air Max pack influenced by the Fast Forward editions of the Mercurial Vapor IX. Set to hit the shelves early this month, this pack release becomes the latest shoe release from Nike to take influence from their Mercurial Vapor IX releases.

Nike put it like this:

“Whether you’re rocking with the polarized blue & total crimson (2014), the atomic violet & total orange (2010), the vibrant yellow & black (2006), or the metallic silver & volt (2002), you’ll be taking a piece of on-pitch heritage with you.”

The first time we saw this influence was the Nike Kobe 8 Mercurial Edition code name “Mabacurial”  which took inspiration from the launch colorway of the Vapor IX to put a soccer inspired basketball shoe on Kobe Bryant’s feet. For fans of the “Fast Forward” edition Vapor  IX from Nike, this represents yet another opportunity to  rep some of Nike’s most influential colorways.

If there is one way to gain some street cred from the soccer community, it is definitely rocking a pair of these Air Max 1 shoes off the field. Imagine stepping off the pitch and out of your 2010 World Cup edition Vapor IX boots, and into a pair of the 2010 World Cup edition Air Max 1 shoes. Is there a better way to show off your soccer mind than this?

Check out the rest of the Air Max editions in the pictures below in Polarized Blue/Total Crimson-Neolime, Atomic Violet/Black-Total Orange, Vibrant Yellow/Black-Neolime. Pictured above is the Metallic Silver/Black-Volt edition.

Available from April 12th at nike.com/sportswear and at select Nike Sportswear retailers.

Does one of these shoes stick out in particular? I’ve got a keen eye on the 2010 World Cup edition, and may have to take a swipe at them when they become available. If you think this is a great idea from Nike, be sure to let us know in the comments below.

  1. When do these come out? And who will be selling them?

  2. 2008 World Cup Edition?

    I'd go for the 2006 ones 🙂
