Adidas Welcomes the World Cup Battle Pack Collection

Adidas Battle Pack Collection

We are down to a month until the 2014 FIFA World Cup kicks off, and today adidas unveiled another fresh round of boots that we will see players wearing in Brazil – this is the Battle Pack Collection. Featuring a new cleat from the brand’s five silos – Lionel Messi’s signature adizero F50, the latest Predator, Nitrocharge, 11Pro and adizero F50 – each Battle Pack release features its own disruptive black and white pattern.

With the release, we also found out that the Samba Pack will NOT be the boots worn by adidas players during the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Instead, the likes of Messi, Mesut Özil, Dani Alves, Luis Suarez, Oscar, Philipp Lahm, Karim Benzema, Javi Martinez and Jozy Altidore will all be sporting one of these Battle Pack designs.

It was an area where we had been left guessing over the past few months, with so many fresh releases hitting the market quite a distance from the World’s biggest event. This only increases the curb appeal and marketing value of what these boots have to offer. In other words, expect to see a lot of these over the next few months!

The black and white colorway of each release is a visual representation of the adidas “all in or nothing” 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil campaign, with each boot exactly 50% white and 50% black. The only other color featuring on the boots is a mixed fiery gold along the iconic three stripes of adidas that represents the ultimate reward of the FIFA World Cup trophy. The adizero f50 Messi is the only exception with an added blue and white across the top of the boot, inspired by the national colors of Leo Messi’s native Argentina. When you are the lead player in the campaign, you get some extra special treatment!

And then there will be the eagle-eyed spotters out there that will notice something different about these boots, other than the unique colorways. It lies on the Predator release, which not only features an opposite White on Black design, but the Lethal Zones have been modified. It is no secret that Adidas like to change up their signature boot prior to each World Cup and on this occasion things are no different. There is, of course, more details on this boot to follow – stay tuned for everything you need to know about the new Predator!

New Predator

Markus Baumann, Senior VP for Global Football at adidas said:

For Battle Pack, we wanted the boots to be highly visible on pitch and stand out from the extreme range of colour everyone expects to see in Brazil. Our FIFA World Cup campaign is “all in or nothing” and this mindset is represented perfectly through the black and white colourway chosen for the boots. In addition, we wanted to pay homage to a unique Brazilian design and the powers associated with the boots and style of the players wearing them. They will help prepare our players for battle in Brazil, as they aim for glory.

Some of the battle Pack boots will make their debuts on field during the UEFA Champions League Final in Lisbon on May 24.

In terms of availability, the collection is on pre-sale today at www.adidas.com.
