Nike Release Exclusive Gold Hypervenom For Neymar

Neymar is the payer that captures the playing style of the Hypervenom Phantom boots to a tee – he is the player that Nike has essentially modeled the boot after. Because of that, Nike has created this exclusive, absolutely stunning new gold version of the Brasilian star’s Hypervenom boots for him to wear during the rest of the World Cup tournament. With 4 goals in 3 group stage games, he is an integral part in Brazil hopes for success and a serious contender for the Golden Boot title.

As a football-obsessed 12 year-old in the Brasilian coastal city of Santos, Neymar Jr. would spray paint his football boots gold. This special version of the Hypervenom Phantom features a unique sock-liner detail of a gold spray paint can and the Hypervenom boot graphic .

When we met with Neymar he told us that when he was 12 he used to spray paint his boots gold. He said that he always wanted a pair of gold boots but that he couldn’t find them anywhere. So we took that insight and decided this summer would be the perfect moment to create this boot for him.

As a boot, the Hypervenom is based on agility and fast paced movements with the ball at your feet. Visually, the first thing you note about the Hypervenom is the oddly textured upper. Basically, it is comprised of a mesh underlay, a layer of skin over it and the final product is treated with ACC technology. When you get a pair in hand, you will notice the honeycomb paneling has a dimpled-feel effect covering the entire surface of the boot. Then through testing, we found that the responsive nature of the upper material allows it to move more uniformly with your foots natural positioning.

This gold colorway is available in limited numbers on both Nike.com and Soccer.com.
