Nike Releases 2015 “BHM” Collection – Mercurial Superfly BHM

Black History Month Nike Mercurial Superfly

What better way to celebrate Black History Month than with a collection of products that honor athletes who have had an impact sports with their courage and determination? Nike today announce the release of 28 items from performance to lifestyle with 12 shoes and 16 apparel and accessory items for men and women. The boots included that we are interested in are the Mercurial Superfly BHM edition – these things have some serious attitude!

FC Schalke o4 midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng is the soccer player and inspirational figure for the 2015 BHM Collection.

Boateng took a stand against intolerable abuse on the pitch, inspiring his team to help in the fight against racism and take action as one.

The boots themselves are pretty spectacular, featuring a pretty incredible Black/White color pattern and a bold Gold swoosh outline. The intent of these boots is to celebrate, but they obviously also have a striking standout visual appearance. They are the type of boot that players will spend time looking at up close trying to understand what they represent, an ideal opportunity to highlight the need for universal acceptance within our culture.

A portion of proceeds from the sale of the 2015 BHM Collection go to the Ever Higher Fund, which supports organizations that leverage the power of sport to maximize the potential of underserved youth. The fund’s mission is to assist communities with knowledge, resources and tools for the next generation of leaders.

The 2015 BHM Collection will be available globally at nike.com and select retail locations beginning Jan. 17.
