Gotta love when a random, unidentified package arrives in the door. Last week, this neatly wrapped box was dropped at the door and it took a minute to figure out what it was. Under the brown outer packaging was an Italian styled blue Puma box. The Puma/Italy partnership has produced some incredible kit designs in recent seasons, and they are not shy about passing out media presentation kits to promote their final product. It produces a sense of pride in what is to be worn.
As well as featuring the new 2016 Italia home kit, this was Puma’s way to highlight their latest “Il Viaggio” project. It is a cool concept and I’m sure there will be a lot pf players interested in being part of the final 16 squad. Below isthe press release details to fill you in on whats on offer!
“Il Viaggio”, Italian for “The Journey”
Calling all Azzurri Fans! The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) and PUMA have partnered to create Il Viaggio, Italian for “The Journey”, which will offer soccer players the opportunity to participate in a once-in-a-lifetime experience to learn to play football the Italian Way.
The 2016 Il Viaggio by PUMA program is available exclusively to male players with birth years of 2000 or 2001. Trials will be hosted in New York, Los Angeles and Toronto. In order to be considered, you need to complete this entry form. Only players receiving an official invitation from PUMA will be eligible to participate. Invited players will begin their journey with a regional trial opportunity to prove their skill and desire to #BETHENEXT player to wear the Azzurri blue. From there, those players who turned heads and made an impression will participate in a national trial at Disney’s Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Florida.
A select team of 16 players will ultimately be chosen to participate in a once-in-a-lifetime Italian experience with the Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio (FIGC) in Italy.
