Since we are on the verge a new EPL season, we wanted to take a look at the boots that top stars will be wearing for opening weekend. Given the fact we are coming off a World Cup year, the boot market has been busier than ever. Just in the past week Nike, adidas and Puma have released new packs that are designed to capture fan attention on pitch. It is a battle to be the most seen brand.
Here is a rundown of what some of the best players will be wearing, if there is anyone we want included let us know who and why in the comments below!
Sergio Aguero – Puma ONE 1
Man City’s all time top goalscorer has already set a statement with his performance in the Charity Shield game last weekend. Should he stay fit, he is sure to have a pretty huge season. And that is something Puma will be hoping for. The ONE silo hasn’t quite hit the levels of the evoSPEED silo yet, so Aguero continuing his fine form while wearing them can only be a good thing!
Mohamed Salah – adidas X 18+
What in the world does this season hold for Mo Salah? He was beyond exceptional last season and has a series opportunity of winning the Ballon d’Or should he continue his fine form. And he has quickly become a focal player for the X18+ series, a boot built perfectly for his dynamic style of play.
Kieran Trippier – Nike Mercurial Vapor XII
Coming off a very solid World Cup performance, a lot of eyes will be focused on what Trippier does this season. It is not often we talk about wing backs and a speed boot like the Vapor XII, but they seem to suit his game so well. The Spurs man is all about dynamic changes of pace, with the ability to get forward and create opportunities in the process.
Paul Pogba – adidas Predator 18+
Even though we are unlikely to see Pogba play this weekend, it is still important to point out the iconic colorway he could be wearing. They don’t come any better! As part of the Team Mode Pack, adidas has decked the Predator 18+ in their original colors. Such a classy look that will match pretty perfectly with his potential ability to be a Worldly like star.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – Nike Hypervenom Phantom III DF
With a new manager in place for the first time since 1996, there is a lot of nervous excitement surrounding Arsenal’s season. Whatever happens, Aubameyang will be the player leading the lines and hopefully scoring the all important goals. He has all the attributes needed and has already shown in pre-season that he is ready to score goals. He is another perfect player to highlight the attacking nature of the Hypervenom series.
João Moutinho – adidas Predator 18.1
A lot of eyes will be on Wolves this season and their extremely exciting setup. From coaching staff to a host of new players, this is going to be one of the most explosive promoted teams we have seen in a while! Moutinho brings a lot of top flight experience and the ability to be a talisman in the middle of the park for Wolves, something that is complimented by his boot choice. He enjoys laces, thus sports the Predator 18.1 and will be wearing the iconic Predator colorway to kick off the new season.
Virgil van Dijk – Nike Tiempo Legend VII
Over the past few season, Virgil van Dijk has proven to be one of the most consistent players in the Premier League. Now that he has had a chance to settle into the Liverpool squad, there are big expectations for this season. Like most of the best defenders in the World, he wears the perfect silo that provides the reliability needed to perform through a 90 minute game; the Tiempo Legend!
Felipe Anderson – adidas Predator 18+
West Ham could easily be a surprise package this season, after making some exciting signings during the Summer. One of which, Felipe Anderson, has the ability to be a force in the PL. Coming off a less than ordinary season, and holding the highest transfer fee in West Ham history might add some pressure to the former Lazio playmaker. But at least he has the reliability of a pair of Preds on his feet, the laceless version, with the expectation of kicking of the season in the iconic Predator colorway.
