Well, I for one know the importance of buying on a budget. While I played in college, I chose to wear a $50 Lotto Zhero Evolution over higher priced boots as they filled what I needed and expected from a boot. With all the high priced releases currently hitting the market, I thought it would be worth exploring more economical options, here is the best of the under $60 mark.

Adidas F10 TRX
The new adiZero F50 range has broken the boundaries of lightweight soccer cleats, while offering an unexpected level of high comfort. The F10 doesn’t have the bonus of being superlight, but at 9.4oz you are still getting a boot that won’t weigh you down. The cleat is designed to look like a leather version, as it has stitching across the front, but it is actually made of a synthetic material.
What makes them a good purchase? They look very similar to their more expensive brother, the F50, while offering a great level of comfort for a lightweight boot.

Nike CTR360 Libretto
Nike have done a terrific job focusing the CTR360 release on a specific player on the market – the playmaker. And with the Libretto, they have upheld their desire to release a cracker of a boot that gives the playmaker on a budget a boot to call their own. These look exactly like the Maestri, with the added bonus of actually being made of a full grain leather. They also weigh in at a decent 10oz.
What makes them a good purchase? They look very similar to the CTR360 Maestri and are made of a full grain leather. Because they are designed for playmakers, you are getting a very specific boot.

Umbro SX Valor Premier
These are the cheapest boot on our list, but they might be one of the best in terms of value for money considering their list price is $84. One of the most impressive things about Umbro is their ability to produce high quality boots at decent prices. The Valor Premier is another boot created using a full grain leather. They also have a quilted vamp and covered lacing system, allowing you to have a larger strike zone.
What makes them a good purchase? Umbro offer extremely competitive prices in general, but add a sale price and these are even better value! Covered lacing system is a bonus.

Puma v4.10 Tricks
Weighing in at 8.4oz. the V4.10 Tricks are the lightest boots on the list. Right now they are on sale for $49 (regularly $80) so these are another pair that just manage to make it onto the list. They are a quality boot that look the part. Created using a synthetic upper, you are going to want to order up half a size as they fit tight. Part o the Tricks range released during the World Cup.
What makes them a good purchase? Right now they are a great deal. Plus they look very unique as part of the Tricks range, not many players will have this design.

So, I am currently in the process of moving from one part of Los Angeles to another, and decided it would be an ideal opportunity to sell some cleats and make the moving boxes a little lighter! To be honest, I really need to make new room for a new batch of cleats that are expected to arrive in the next few weeks for review. My preferred choice and recommendation would be a little different, a pair of adidas adiPURE’s will be on the list of any soccer player! Approx $150.

FRS Health Energy Drink
I was part of the initial roll-out of FRS a few years back, and I loved the stuff! It works great after working out to clear out free radicals that cause stiffness. If you have a serious soccer player on your hands it might be worth the investment. You can also take the free trial offer, and give the option, if they like it, to continue ordering! Approx $100.

Fathead Wall Graphics
This one is definitely out of the box…but is sure to please if you pick the right one! While I was in college, my Italian roommate insisted that we keep an A.C Milan decal on the wall, I didn’t fancy it so much. Fathead are wall decals that you can place on any wall, and easily peel off when needed. You can choose from many different players (including Beckham, Messi and a bunch of MLS players), or you can pick a team logo. Worth checking out! Approx $99.

Bumpy Pitch T-Shirt
These are the designer t-shirts of the soccer world! The range is made of a 100% cut and sew pieces ensuring that each item is fabricated specifically for Bumpy Pitch!In other words, they are super soft and fit really well. You have to try one to understand. I recently got myself 2 new tops, and I just love these things. Recommended! Approx $40.

Soccer Magazine Subscription
This is one of the safest Christmas gift options, but it works out to be a great gift. Include the fact that the subscription lasts for a year and it makes even more sense! I was subscribed to both Soccer America and Soccer360, hoping I find a subscription in my sock again this year! Approx $60.
