Ali,
From my understanding, each company has to bring their completed ball to Fifa for inspection before release. For some reason they ranked the Jabulani highly. In fact, I have heard that Adidas were pressured by Fifa to release the ball for the World Cup when they were actually wanted to make a redesign before the competition started!

I can imagine that when wet they might get stinky! The key thing is getting them dry as soon as possible after play. There are different stratagies to try. First off, some newspaper stuffed into the toes will soak up some of the water. You could also try Stuffits or Skunkies

The Synthetic run a little longer than the leather version. i would order true to size with the Leather. The Synthetic offers a little more protection as the leather is a much softer material.

It does sound like a size issue, esp if your toe feels tight against the toe when you run. You could try spending more time breaking htem in, but I fear you might need an extra half size.
