Puma PowerCat in Black/White/Aged Silver

The latest Puma release is this pretty sweet PWR-CT1.10 in a Black/White/Aged Silver colorway. I have to admit, I am definitely a fan of this release, both for the actual boot and for the colorway. If you have not noticed yet, my preferred choice of design is something that is pretty minimal but carries a new look. And I feel that this release has a really good balance!

It has been a while since I tested the PowerCat cleat, but I still have them and decided today that it would be a good time to pull them back out of the closet! So, last night I got to take them out and strike some balls. And just as in testing, I found them to be super comfortable and a great boot for shooting. One area where people have raised concerns with this boot is in durability – my pair have lasted extremely well and still look pretty new (I tested them in February) so from my experience I would say durability is not an issue.

If there was one change I could make with the version I tested it would be the lime color used for detailing (which I thought was an improvement compared to the V-Konstruckt release) and Puma have upped it by releasing this colorway! The aged silver look creates a new dynamic on the black primary color that keeps it simple yet new-age. All of the detailing comes in the aged silver color, so if you are looking for something with color these are not going to be the release for you! Another aspect that might turn players off is the weight – they weigh in at 10.4oz. But that is what allows them to be a power boot, designed for striking the ball while also giving you the added advantage of protection. Nice release!

Puma continue to pack on the new releases with this version in their Tricks series, the Puma PowerCat Graphic. It is not quiet my choice for “Best looking cleat of the year” but I am sure it is going to appeal to many players out there! To use a word, these are bold. The silver and black mix is sure to be easily spotted on the field, with the silver primary color looking almost mirror like. They are named graphic because of the design towards the front outside of the boot that runs under onto to sole and across the inside.

I tested the Powercat’s earlier this year and really liked them, in fact I was using them as my go-to boot for a few months. The ridges along the front of the boot are part of PowereGil technology that is designed to enhance striking power by increasing power behind the ball as it releases from your cleat. Not only have players like Manchester United’s Nemanja Vidic and Michael Carrick been wearing these, but the PowerCats were in fact the most worn boots by goalkeepers at this summers World Cup in South Africa! The majority of a goalkeepers game involves punting, goal kicks and clearances so it makes sense for a boot with a kicking technology (PowerGil) to be a preferred choice.

I highly recommend the PowerCat boot as it offers excelled comfort and is great for striking the ball. If silver happens to be your preferred choice, then my advice it to go for these. What are your thoughts on the release and would you choose this colorway?

Puma PowerCat 1.10 Released

The Puma PowerCat 1.10 has been released, which means we can finally share the images with you! I am still in the process of finalizing the review for these, but I can tell you right now that these are a great cleat, and a true winner for Puma. Size wise, they fit true to size, which is a super plus considering some of Puma’s recent ‘tight’ releases! They are made of a supersoft K-Leather, and that is one of the huge pluses on this release as they break in so easily! I hope to have the review finalized in the next week after I get one or two more games in, but for now enjoy the images below! You can also get your hands on a pair today. I am currently testing the Black/White/Wild Lime color (as seen below) but there is also a White/Puma White/Team Gold version available.

Puma PowerCat 1.10 – Get Ready!

The countdown is on to the official release of the new Puma PowerCat 1.10 (or the PWR CT1), with less than a week to go. You probably have not heard that much about the new Puma release, but believe me when I say these are going to be a hit! They will be the follow up to the vKonstrukt cleat, minus the heavy feel. I have had a pair for the last week, and will be bringing you plenty of pics and information on the day of release! Within the next 2-3 weeks, when I have had enough time to test them out, I will have a full review to share. We can’t reveal too much about the cleat, but I cant tell you that the initial roll-out will come in a K-Leather Black/White/Lime color, with black being the primary color! I am a huge fan of these cleats, and I rate them as one of the best looking releases on the market in the past year. If I was to use one word to sum these boots up it would be ‘Stealth’!
