Check this exclusive South Korea release, and the next piece of the 2020 collection that Nike has pieced together for the “Land of the Morning Calm.” The Mercurial Superfly “South Korea” is a design inspired by the Korean flag, a sacred animal in Korean mythology and the beautiful culture of its people.
Every inch of the release, from boot to boot bag and actual box, is treated to an incredible array of intricate detailing. The upper itself features an animal or safari style zig zag print of black on white. The Swoosh gets a Korean Blue to Red color fade, while the soleplate offers up an incredible iridescent effect through the forefoot. You will find some Korean text on the heel.
Again, the unfortunate news here is the fact they will only be released in South Korea. Nike is keeping it as an exclusive release for the Korean people to take advantage of. It is a real shame because these definitely sit as one of the best Superfly designs we have seen in to date, and I’m pretty sure there is a big enough community of South Koreans here in the US that would have snapped these up in a heartbeat. Kudos to Nike on delivering a design that pays tribute in such an impressive fashion, much the same way as they did when they released a similar Nigerian collection back in 2018, think back to the equally colorful Naija Superfly.
This release is accompanied by a pair of Mercurial Vapor in the same colorway, a special edition Air Max 95 and home and away kits for the national team to complete the 2020 South Korea collection.
