Ronaldo Debuts Nike CR Mercurial IX

Ronaldo in Mercurial IX

Cristiano Ronaldo kicked off 2013 as you would pretty much expect; wearing some personalized boots and scoring some goals! Real Madrid stuttered in their game against Real Sociedad and it was Ronaldo’s 68th and 70th minute double that pushed them on to a 4-3 win. But it was his new boots that were the central talking point!

Nike offered us some sneak peak teasers of the new CR Mercurial IX this past week, but what they didn’t tell us was that the primary upper color was White. I am sure there were some eagle-eyed spotters that found images of the boots online, but for most it was a definite surprise. One thing is for sure, that CR7 logo on the side is pretty easy to spot!

Rumor has it that there will only be 100 Limited Edition pairs of these exact boots available for players to buy in early February – my question is how many of you will be looking to pick up a pair?

  1. im in love with those cleats….

  2. Probably too expensive since they are only for a short amount of time.

  3. Its "kicked off 2013". Not "kicked off 2012".

  4. Maybe other pros will stop wearing the CR7 custom boots now that they have his name on them and not just an odd design. Could have influenced the development.

  5. When & where can I get them?
