SoccerCleats101 Guide to Boots on Black Friday

BFriday2013

When it comes to Black Friday sales, we are often left with many decisions on which boot sales to take advantage of. It is the one time all year when you can really splurge and invest in some top pairs at pretty ridiculous low prices. We will be bringing you a comprehensive breakdown of all the sales from all the top stores (like we do every year), so we figured a quick guide is in order to help you figure out exactly what silo you need to watch out for.

Who We Will Be Covering

We will have full Black Friday, Cyber Monday and several flash sale deals from the following websites and brands:

There is going to be a vast range of deals on offer, anything from 10% off to 30% off, free shipping, and get a free gift with orders over $xyz. In some cases, all 3 deals will be mixed into one purchase – gotta love that. There are also multiple 1-day sales on top boots (or until they sell out) and possibly an awesome gift-card deal.

The deals actually start this Monday, November 25th, which is obviously far earlier than previous years. There will be some cool, unique deals between Monday and Thursday, before the big day which is Friday, November 29th. Sales continue through the weekend, until we get one last big splash on Monday, December 2nd. It is sure to be a busy week, but man there are going to be some awesome deals to take advantage of!

Some Boots Worth Watching Out For

We can’t give you the lowdown on the best places to buy these boots just yet, but here are some pairs that we recommend watching out for and considering as part of your wish-list.

Best All-Round Performer

Champions League Adidas Predator LZ 2Adidas Predator LZ – There are a few different options in this category, but the Predator LZ has a lot more on offer than your conventional boot without being overloaded. The addition of 5 different Lethal Zones gives players in different positions the opportunity to wear them. When selecting a pair, look for the older generation that is on sale at a ton of stores. Matched with a Black Friday discount, you could be getting close to 60% off a pair.

Best Boot for Consistency

Puma King 2013 ReviewPuma King 2013 – There is still something so simple yet very addictive about the latest addition to the King range. These boots have been on the market a while and we are due to see a new version prior to next summer’s World Cup, but if you can pick up one of the latest colorways at a discounted Black Friday price, they are well worth the investment. Note that Puma modified this boot considerably from previews installments, but having had the opportunity to test them extensively over the past few months, they get my seal of approval.

Best Vale for Money

Nike Premier vs TiempoNike Premier – Nike has tackled the Copa Mundial head on with the release of the Premier and they are an absolute peach of a boot. The simple level of performance offered combined with the buttery soft leather upper makes them a very welcome addition for any players soccer bag. With 20% off, you are likely to be able to pick up a pair for $80 or less and that is true value for money compared to the market.

Best Mid-Tier Option

Nike Veloce ReviewNike Mercurial Veloce – If you are on the lookout for a mid-tier option as either a back-up pair or as your new game boots, watch out for the Nike Mercurial Veloce. The little brother of the Vapor range is a top quality option that falls right into the speed category – they weigh in a phenomenal 6.6oz and perform just as well as many top tier boots on the market. If you can find a pair for around the $80 mark it is not to turned down!

Best New Release

Samba Collection - F50-adiZeroAdidas F50 adiZero Samba – If you get the opportunity to hit up a site that has a sale on ALL boots, they look toward the brand new version of the Adidas F50 adiZero, the Samba Edition. There is something special about this latest version of Messi’s Speed boot and they are well worth splashing out on. If you can get 20% off the regular price, you could snag a pair for $176 – not the cheapest, but considering they retail for $220 it is a DEAL!

Best Alternative Boot

Asics DS Light FeaturedAsics DS Light X-Fly K – Although they are priced above the $200 mark, the Asics DS Light X-Fly K is one of the best performing boots out there and well worth checking out if you have the opportunity. Well, guess what, with a good Black Friday sale you might just be tempted! Lightweight and extremely comfortable, I’d recommend these to everyone from defenders to pacey wingers and even playmakers.

Must Buy – The Copa Mundial

Adidas Copa Mundial Soccer CleatA lot of people might not be aware of this, but Adidas intend to increase the price of the Copa Mundial in the next few weeks by a whopping $30. This means they are going to be listed closer to the $150 mark come the New Year. Right now, you can find them listed for $119. When you consider sales and the fact that the Copa Mundial very rarely goes on sale, putting a pair on your wishlist is pretty much a MUST. Rather than paying $150, you are likely to be able to pick them up for $96 during Black Friday sales.

  1. I'd like to know if there are any White Copa Mundial or the Special Edition Copas out there, and if so if there will be deals for Black Friday

  2. Soccer savings is currently offering 30% off all their sale items. They tend to have some older models going for pretty cheap. If you're looking for one of the new releases, they don't have anything out there all that great at the moment, but if you're looking for a solid performing boot, I've noticed some very good prices on some older boots such as the Laser III, Diadora Solano, Umbro GTII Pro, Umbro Geometra Pro, both models of the Nike Elastico Pro all of which are available for under $40. The Evospeed I is available for $42.

If you don't mind getting an older model, you may want to check out that deal. Soccer.com has a pretty good $20 off any order over $100 if you're trying to buy something new, but Soccer Savings at the moment has the best deal if you're just trying to get a quality boot as cheaply as possible.

  3. Hey Bryan,

Are you going to be reviewing the new adipure's anytime soon, and if so, when? I am curious to see how they perform against the other adipure's, and if they are worth picking up on Friday.

  4. I wish I found this out earlier, but Soccergarage.com has 30% off everything. Just use code BLACK30 at checkout. They are very reliable as I just ordered some Diadora DD-Evoluzione K Pro. Multiple Colors and Styles. Thought I would share it even though it is a bit late.

  5. Hey Guys I am back here again. I have found a deal for those looking at Cyber Monaday deals too late. Again, out of curiosity I went to check my order status on Soccergarage.com, only to find that they are having a Cyber Monday Week sale From December 2-8. Everything in the store is 25% off, including new items such as adidas Samba pack and Brazuca WC 2014 OMB. Just use code CYBER25. I thought I would share because I just bought some Diadora Turf shoes. Never know what you can find.
