The most iconic boot of all time gets a limited edition, modern update in the form of the adidas COPA70 as the German brand celebrates its 70th year in existence. Established in 1949, these could be the greatest example of past meeting present on a boot, with the new COPA70 featuring a Primeknit upper, leather lining and COPA19 outsole. The design is directly based on the 1982 original.
The upper features dual layers; underneath you get a classic leather, keeping the tradition of the COPA alive. On top, you get a modern Primeknit that brings the boot into the modern age, taking advantage of adidas most highly rated materials. You also get an iconic fold over, Primeknit tongue that features a blue bird graphic. Like the original, you get to choose whether to leave it long for a classic look, or fold it over for a contrasting white tongue.
Underneath, adidas has gone with the same modern outsole that you can currently find on the new Copa 19, with the Exoframe providing solid traction on FG and AG surfaces.
Again, these are limited edition with Juventus’ Paulo Dybala being the only adidas player that will wear the COPA70 boots on-pitch. The question is will you wear them or keep them as a collectors item?
