Over the past few weeks, we have been highlighting some of the incredible deals included in the Umbro Warehouse Sale event. It is a case of out with the old, and in with the new. One of the boots included is the Umbro UX Accuro II Pro, and the tasty $39.99 deal on pairs proved to be all too tempting. Their original retail price is $199.99. So, I picked up a pair last week to highlight more in detail for you guys, while they are still available.
So, what is the design all about? First, this is a boot designed for consistent touch and comfort. Umbro has integrated a Neoprene style tongue and collar for enhanced comfort around the ankle, that is combined with a Mesh bootee for an ultra responsive fit. The upper is a high performance microfiber material that features embossed hexagonal control pads. The concept behind these control pods to allow for a more cushioned feel on the ball, leading to better precision and increased accuracy when striking shots. Finally, underfoot a ‘Pro-Stance’ Pebax outsole is employed with a low-profile stud configuration to provide optimum traction on both FG and AG surfaces.
In terms of fit, they are more on the narrow side. So, wide fitting players will need to look elsewhere. Anyone in the narrow to medium fit category will thoroughly enjoy these. They fit true to size, but the forefoot is snug compared to other top model releases. The is the only thing worth keeping in mind if you are considering a pair!
We jumped on a pair in the Navy Blue colorway, but there are several colorways available with a wide variety of sizes up for grabs. Are they worth $40? Absolutely they are. They are a simplified, top-tier release that hasn’t received enough advertising attention in the US. That is Umbro’s fault. BUT, that means there is a wide range of quality boots that haven’t sold, and are now on sale at incredibly low prices. And they make a perfect back-up pair to have for those days when you need something just a little different.
