adidas GLITCH – The 93rd and Final Version Released

adidas THE GLITCH SKIN

adidas has decided the time is right, completing the lifecycle of the GLITCH series with its 93rd and final installment, THE GLITCH SKIN.

This 93rd GLITCH skin features a striking design on the interchangeable boot pack that draws inspiration from the gods of Greek Mythology, as tribute to the modern-day Gods of Football. Luminous lightning-bolts crash through the skin design, reigning terror on the wearer’s opponent. The sole plate meanwhile is matte electroplated and features a reflective heal. Only 100 pairs of the skin have been put into production, making it one of the most exclusive GLITCH skins ever.

It is also the result of an adidas x GLITCHFAM collaboration, which saw the global community submit over 2000 designs. The creator, the UK’s Chris Pottle, was subsequently invited to the adidas Makers Lab in Germany to fine-tune their design alongside the adidas product team.

So, what happens from here? Well, the one thing we know is that adidas is retiring the GLITCH series. It is unfortunate that we never had the opportunity to experience the series here in the US. There was a strong rumor that adidas were going to introduce them here during the 2018 World Cup, but it never transpired. Why the decision and where they go next is pretty much unknown. We just have to sit back and watch as adidas continues to innovate and moves into the next stage of their evolution!
