Umbro GeoFLARE – Designed for the Firestarter

Umbro GeoFLARE

Long live Umbro – after a shaky year, the Diamond brand are back with a brand new boot that has been designed for “the firestarter on the pitch” – the Umbro GeoFLARE.

Everything about this boot is intended to compliment an attacking styled player who wants to take on the responsibility of changing the game. In a sense, it seems like this is set to fit the creator mold, or the same bracket as the Nike CTR360 Maestri.

Umbro use a lightweight microfiber upper on the boot, but it is the enhanced control technology overlay that really gives this boot its appeal. An enhanced re-ground rubber print is placed across the forefoot to improve control in wet weather conditions. Control is pushed further by the embossed medial pass pad, created purely for enhanced ball dampening and control.

Visually, an eye-catching black and lava pink colourway is sure to easily be spotted on pitch. Although the Lava Pink gives the boot some extra pop, it is quite refreshing to see a brand release a new boot in a darker shade.

After their move from Nike, it seemed like we were waiting for the next move from Umbro. It seemed to take a while and a lot of people wondered if we were seeing the end of the iconic brand. This latest release settles the nerves and answers a lot of questions. Along with this new release, expect to see some fresh new colorways in their other ranges over the next few days. Umbro are sticking around for a while longer!

We are still awaiting US retail details for the GeoFLARE – stay tuned for info on where you can pick up a pair!

  1. Bryan, as it states here: http://www.footballboots.co.uk/13051-new-geoflare… the geoflare is replacing the GT Pro. Umbro already have the Geometra which is their CTR360 equivalent. This does have a few extras that puts it in the same mould, perhaps why are sharing the geo part of the name, but is still their speed boot…

  2. I'm hoping you do a review on these! And when are you doing a hypervenom review?

  3. I'm not sure why Umbro (for the most part) and Warrior continue to stick with blades, when the industry and consumer demand is clearly for conical, or at least something resembling conical studs.
