A couple weeks ago now, Bryan put up a link on the main page about a deal to be had on the Adidas Predator OG. That was all I needed to log onto the Adidas website and mentally scream, “Shut up and take my money!”
I have long been a devotee to the Church of the Predator, so to be able to get a limited edition pair of kicks styled as close to the boot which started everything was a chance I couldn’t turn down. And now that they’re finally here in the flesh, here’s a closer look at what the ‘lifestyle’ shoe looks like.
Despite being marketed as a ‘lifestyle’ shoe, the Predator OG definitely has some proper indoor predigree, as the shoe is effectively built on the chassis of Adidas’ famed Mundial Goal (aka: The Copa Indoor), it weighs in at the same 12oz as the Mundial Goal has weighed since its introduction. I’m actually planning to wear them this winter in my one indoor league, and I’ll be taking notes on how the 1994 spec Predator technology meshes with the indoor pedigree of the Mundial Goal for a review. But until I can get them out on the indoor court, I’ll just be admiring how unconventionally pretty they are.
