Over the past few days, several players have been spotted wearing an extremely unusual, camo style boot in training. Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Matteo Darmian have all been testing them out, as Nike give us a little sneak peek as to what is to come with the next generation Tiempo Legend VIII.
How do we know they are the upcoming Tiempo Legend release? Well, first thing is the players that have been spotted wearing them. Then there is the distorted black text that runs across the boots upper, you can make out some letters that remind you of the word TIEMPO in signature Nike graphic text. There is a 3D style effect in play, and it really does hide the key details of the upper. In reality, this is a move that mimics what we have seen Puma do in the past with some of their pre-releases. And I’m not going to lie, I love this strategy! It gives fans something to watch out for, with the opportunity to see what is on the way before it actually arrives.
Given that the current Tiempo Legend was released way back in June 2017, fans will be chomping at the bit to see how Nike has evolved the 8th generation release this time around. That is a lot of time to plan for the next iteration, and I’ve a feeling these will not disappoint in the shock and awe department!
