Nike PhantomVSN “Phantom Fire” Up Close

Nike PhantomVSN Phantom Fire

Although it not exactly a boot that matches its “Phantom Fire” pack name, the latest PhantomVSN Elite release still packs a lot of heat on pitch. Rather than splashing wild red hot colors, Nike has unleashed a more classic a sharp black design that is highlighted with burnt orange detailing. It is a modern take on traditional styling with a little pop for players that want to stand out on pitch.

Along the heel, a series of text finishes up a signature look for the swoosh on a boot designed for players that want to master the art of navigating tight spaces and creating in the most important moments. The PhantomVSN, built for comfort, is one of the most advanced boots currently on the market.

Oh boy is there a lot of texturing right throughout the upper of the Phantom Vision, all intended to enhance feel on the ball. It is a boot built using a Flyknit upper with micro texturing, and ACC (All Conditions Control) across the upper for all-weather performance. Through the instep, in what is a triangle-shaped area, you will find a dominant raised pattern. Nike Sport Research Lab testing confirms the lower on the triangle one collects the ball, the higher the degree of control for initiating an attack.

Without a doubt one of the key features of the Phantom Vision is the “Ghost Lacing” system with Quadfit mesh. Quadfit is designed to contain the foot without constricting it, while also retaining its shape over time without overstretch. While not visible from the outside, the impact is immediate on the inside.

Underfoot, you get an entirely new HyperPrecision outsole with an FEA-informed traction pattern to accommodate quick multi-directional cuts. The studs are housed on a lightweight, responsive plate with enhanced zonal support for the foot. Each blade is offset with the intent of catching the surface through a movement easing the pressure on your foot and allowing you to focus on quick acceleration.

A complex release, the Nike Phantom Vision is a boot built from the inside-out, with comfort set as a priority. Nike has actually labeled them as a “match-ready boot right out of the box.” Day or night games, they look pretty solid on foot!
