Chaos Soccer Gear are back with their second artistically inspired soccer ball release, this one taking on a bold and detailed Dragon graphic.
The Dragon Ball features a 6-panel design that is created to provide an accurate and stable flight. The casing on the ball is a 1.5 mm high quality, micro-texture dimpled PU. The dimples are low profile, offering a similar feel to what was found on the Nike Seitiro released a few years ago. A top protective layer is then added to shield the design, ensuring it won’t fade, or look worn out over time.
How does it feel to play with?
I wasn’t too eagerly excited about the 6 panel design before the ball arrives, but from having the chance to knock it around, it plays really well. On long strikes, it pops off your foot and has the middle-weight feel. In other words, it is not light like the Jabulani and it is not heavy like a Brine ball. It also follows a very clean flight path with little movement. So, you will be able to get some curl on freekicks or crosses into the box without any noticeable wobble.
Visually, the white base color helps make the ball easy to track in flight. The Dragon pattern is extremely cool and very detailed, but it doesn’t effect visual performance in a positive or negative way. You actually don’t really notice it as you knock the ball. So, the aesthetics are there to show your mates before you get out and play with the ball. And ultimately, that is what it is – a unique ball with an artistic design that gives you something to showcase.
And finally, for those wondering about overall durability, the Dragon comes with a 2-year warranty for shape and size. It is also intended for use on multiple playing surfaces; outdoor grass or outdoor/indoor turf.
