It is incredible to think that we are already into week 5 of the new Premier League season, and it has been an exceptionally exciting start. We have had dramatic last minute winners, hattricks from star players, several upsets and a lot of referee drama (as usual!)
Here, take a look at some of the stars of the season to date, and highlight the boots that they are wearing.
Erling Haaland – Nike Mercurial Vapor 14
What a start to life at Man City for Haaland. He has already scored 6 goals in 4 games, an incredible return already! With a new generation of Mercurial on the market, it is kind of surprising that Haaland has stuck with the Mercurial Vapor 14 Elite. He is obviously comfortable in them, and with his confidence sky high there seems to be no reason to switch out of them!
Cristiano Ronaldo – Nike Zoom Air Superfly 9
We haven’t seen a whole lot of CR7 this season, as his future at Man Utd continues to be up in the air. And it is even stranger to see a new Mercurial released to market with Ronaldo stylishly wearing them on pitch. It could be the longest he goes wearing a new boot without a goal! Still, this is one boot that has taken the market by storm, an absolute top performer that is worth checking out.
Gabriel Jesus – adidas X Speedportal+
Without a doubt, one of the best signings this season will be Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal. He has already filled a void that the club had been lacking for several years, and his return of 2 goals + 3 assists has helped Arsenal move to top of the table. He wears the laceless version of the adidas X Speedportal+ in the Rick and Morty release colorway. I’ve already had a chance to test these, and I can tell you that they are one of the best speed boots we have seen adidas release.
Darwin Nunez – Nike Zoom Air Superfly 9
Nunez has started his career at Liverpool in mixed fashion, scoring goals but also picking up a red card. Still. he is a player that will shine this season and he becomes a player Nike will use to highlight their signature releases.
William Saliba – Nike Tiempo Legend 9 Elite
One of the more surprising players this season has been William Saliba. So much so, that the fans have created one of the most mind numbing songs to praise his name. He plays as a defender but he has also contributed going forward, scoring and getting an assists in the first 4 games. He wears the Tiempo Legend 9, a silo that has become an extremely popular option for defenders.
Rodrigo Moreno – Nike Phantom GT2 Elite
What an electric start to the season it has been for Rodrigo, having already notched 4 goals and an assist in 4 games for Leeds. He has been wearing the Nike Phantom GT2 in the extremely easy to spot Polarized Pack edition. Love these boots, and I especially like seeing a creative winger make the most of their dynamic nature on pitch.
Martin Ødegaard – Nike Zoom Air Vapor 15
Where many top stars have taken to the Elite level Superfly, Ødegaard has taken to the lower cut Zoom Air Vapor. Personally, I find the Vapor to be a lot more dynamic, especially when it comes to quick, aggressive turns on the pitch. He has already notched 3 goals this season.
Aleksandar Mitrović – PUMA Blackouts
Can he score goals in the Premier League? That was the question heading into this season, after Mitrović banged in 43 Championship goals last season. He notched 4 the last time Fulham were in the PL, and he has already upped that number with 5 goals in 5 games this season.
Interestingly, he has been wearing some blackout boots since the start of the season. What do we know about them? Well, they are Puma and the upper is a k-leather. But other than that, we are not sure if they are a Puma King or a future prototype release!
