Outside of boots, I am a huge fan of track tops and the Firebird has always topped my list. There is something about Adidas tops that makes me sway their way. And the option to be able to custom create my own design trough mi Firebird is too good to be true (and a lot of fun to play around with).
Adidas description of the new release reads like this:
An iconic piece gets a contemporary upgrade. The mi adidas men’s Firebird Track Top stays true to its roots with classic 3-Stripes down the sleeves and a crisp stand-up collar, while its fit gets modern with wide rib detailing on the waist and cuffs.
Creating a mi Firebird Track Top
Just like the option of creating mi adidas boots, you have several different areas where you can modify and alter your own iconic design. For example, you can:
- Pick from millions of customizable options, each available in a wide selection of colors.
- Choose between fleece or tricot fabric.
- Select from a wide array of graphics or numbers to highlight on the back.
- Choose from a range of allover print options for the tricot segments.
I spent some time this weekend creating some different designs, and above is the end result of my work. This is my idea of the perfect custom Firebird top. “Why” you ask. Well, let me fill you in.
First off, I am a huge fan of the feel offered by tricot fabric. It is smoother than fleece and is ultimately a better top to wear around in California – we don’t get that many days of cold weather. The primary colors I went for were Blue and Gold, the same colors as my Alma Mater, UC Santa Barbara. That is where I played college soccer and it was the reason I moved to the US. I went for white stripes along the side and a white zipper. It keeps the look clean and classy and actually reminds me of my favorite track top of all time that I wore in college – it has long disappeared!) I also chose to include “SC101” rather than my name on the front of the top, as a shoutout to what has been created with the website.
Finally, I chose to integrate my national color, Green, into the design, and for that I used the Adidas Logo on the front upper left and the large hit on the back. Being Irish is of huge pride to me, and there is nothing more proud than placing that color right over my heart and watching over my back. It makes sense in my mind and perfects my ideal look.
