Early last week, adidas introduced us to their new and very vibrant Carnaval Pack, that featured new colorways in the adiPure 11pro, adiZero, Nitrocharge and this the Predator LZ. The range of sleekly designed football boots are inspired by Carnaval; the festival that brings millions of people to Brazil every year.
Each boot in the range features a very distinctive reflective treatment on the surface of the boots, with the overall design mimicking the flutter effect you see from Carnaval confetti. Think of those colored pieces of tape that fly through the air and catch the light. The artsy feather design on the heel of each cleat takes reference from the famous Carnaval costumes and completes each Brazilian inspired design.
Visually, this is one of the striking designs and the silver undertones are really highlighted by the blue overlay. And the fact that the Lethal Zones infuse into the design without being overly noticeable gives the range a new look. Added with the green feathers on the heel, the entire boot pops in a way we haven’t seen before.
Fans of the Predator LZ silo will recognize it as one of the best hybrids ever released, offering players a very steady level of performance. Built around the technology of the strategically positioned Lethal Zones, adidas looked at ways to improve ball control, handling and feel for increased precision and accuracy with every touch. The five zones include First Touch, Dribble, Sweet Spot, Drive and Pass.
This bold new version has already been worn in games by top players, including Brazilians Oscar and Marcelo in their 5-0 win over South Africa last week. It makes sense to have top Brazilian talent sport them first considering what they represent and are designed for. It is difficult to know how many players will be wearing the limited edition Carnaval boots, but we will be watching intently to see who decides to.
The Predator LZ Carnaval is currently available to buy from Soccer.com.
