Puma evoSPEED 1.2 vs Asics DS Light X-Fly
Bryan: Asics DS Light X-Fly – Not only is the X-Fly a better boot than the evoSPEED, it is also one of the best boots on the market – period! Everything about them is quality and 9 out of 10 players who have tested them will agree they are top performer.
Kevin: Asics DS Light X-Fly – I’ve always found Japanese brands to make boots to a slightly higher standard than the Big 3 brands, and although I’m a fan of the evoSpeed, the use of real leather on the X-Fly’s has me leaning towards choosing them.
Jim: Puma evoSPEED 1.2 – As interesting as the Light X-fly is I would have to once again go with the evospeed. Asics is a relatively new competitor in the speed boot competition while Puma is a veteran. If Asics releases a few new updates to the X-fly range I may be swayed but for now I’d easily choose the evospeed.
Tyler: Puma evoSPEED 1.2: The evoSPEED is a quality boot and Asics is a quality company. Unfortunately I still don’t think they have quite done enough to make their boots stand out in a market full of unique and exciting choices. Puma wins out here perhaps due mostly to their existing reputation.
Colin: Puma evoSPEED 1.2 – It would be great to give the Asics a run, but this match-up is not the time. I have to go with the evoSPEED and it’s clean looks, light weight, and proven track record.
Ethan: Asics DS Light X-Fly – Lightweight with a kangaroo leather upper. Its hard to argue with that. It is an efficient boot with that is lightweight and comfortable. And even if the brand may not be of the big 3 you get a quality boot with no negatives.
Richard: Asics DS Light X-Fly – If Asics are a good enough boot company for Antonio Di Natale to sport their boots then they’re good enough for me to choose over the Puma evoSPEED’s, the fact that the DS Light X-Fly has a K-Leather upper is another HUGE plus.
Final Tally: evoSPEED 3 – DS Light X-Fly 4
