As we head toward the end of the decade, we are looking for different angles to take as we look back on the boot market over the past 10 years; 2010 through 2020. One such angle; I could put together a pretty solid argument that the best releases of this decade came in a ten month span, right at the beginning of the decade! That might sound pretty wild considering how much boot tech has evolved over the past 10 years. But I’m pretty convinced that I will get a lot of true boot fanatics who agree with this take.
We are talking about the period between December 7th 2010 and September 15th 2011. In that time, three absolute quality releases hit the market and each created a huge stir that shifted the market in a positive fashion. Check the out below.
Nike CTR360 Maestri II
Released: December 7th 2010
The most complete playmaker boot ever released to market, and in my opinion it isn’t even close. The CTR360 Maestri II took the popularity of the original release to another level, with some updates to take the boots evolution to the next level. What I can’t believe is the fact that Nike hasn’t created a re-release yet.
adidas adiPURE IV SL
Released: March 9th 2011
Dropping in at a superflight 7oz and featuring a super soft K-leather upper, the adiPURE IV SL was a bit of a dream boot when it was released. And this was even more so when you got them on feet. Performance wise, oh my…..so freaking good! The fit was incredible, the feel of the upper gave them an added level of sophistication, and the design still sits as one of the most iconic ever released.
Nike T90 Laser IV
Released: September 15th 2011
So, we actually were actually at the release event for these boots, and it still sits as one of the best experiences I have had through the existence of the site. The T90 Laser IV still lives as one of the best shooting boots I’ve ever worn, they are that good. The came with the tagline “The Perfect Strike” and that is what you got from them.
And now it is time for you guys to add your take. How do you feel about this triple selection? Can you think of a better 10 month span of boot releases? We are looking for three different releases in that time frame, but we are also open to you suggesting a pair of boots that were in succession and left a positive impact in your memory. If you have any, drop them in the comments below!
